The last Beyond The Breakwater tournament seminar is scheduled for 1:00pm this Saturday (June 20) at Bob Marriott’s Flyfishing Store in Fullerton. They are actually having fly-tying demos starting at 10:00am, so come early!

I’ll be there no later than 12:30, most likely noon. Presenting with me will be Capt. Bryan Webb from Pacific Coast Flyfishing.

Also…the registration deadline is midnight June 20. Payment should be on-line (C.C. or PayPal), or if you want to mail a check, it must be postmarked on that date or earlier in order to be considered.

We only have 3 kayaker/paddleboard/boardfishermen signed up so far, so there’s plenty of room in the FOPS category! If you’re unfamiliar with the coastal kayaking opportunties in the San Diego area, come by the seminar to discuss it.

And don’t forget - everyone entered in the tournament is eligible for the drawing for the Abel Super 7/8 with the fish graphic finish (but you must be present to win).

Capt. Scott Leon reports excellent calico fishing in La Jolla, so Pt. Loma is probably equally good. Barracuda are around, mostly short, but there are a few logs rolled in. Scott’s clients today caught a 9lb yellowtail, and bonito have started showing as well, but are small. Maybe the bigger models will show up next week, just in time for the tournament!
