Whew…on my last trip, I was on my way home and got caught in Rush Hour traffic. I’m creeping up the hill towards Del Mar Heights Rd. with the boat in tow, when a guy pulls up next to me and yells over that I have a huge bulge in one of my trailer tires. I pulled off, and sure enough, the right trailer tire had a bulge the size of a grapefruit on the inside wall. That would have been disastrous at 65 mph!
Thank God for Good Samaritans. I replaced the Carlisle tires with some Goodyear Marathons after I got home. I learned another lesson - don’t get slack! I usually do a walkaround and check the tires before I go any distance, but hadn’t been doing it lately.
Also, when was the last time you made sure you could take your lug nuts off??
