Capt. Bryan Webb (Pacific Coast Fly-fishing) called in a report yesterday. He said that Long Beach (the Wall) is still pretty solid for calico bass. The fishing shut down for a few days after the first big rains, but picked back up and fished well through the more recent weaker storms.

He’s also been fishing Newport Harbor a lot, and reports that the spooted bay bay and sand bass have been on the chew, as have some decent sized halibut.
