Overview
Overview
There aren't a lot of guides or sport boats that cater to coastal or offshore fly fishermen in Southern California. Here's the most comprehensive list we could come up with.
If you are a guide or sportboat operator who would like to be listed, please contact us with your particulars...

Saltwater Fly-fishing Friendly:
San Diego Guides and Sportboat Operators
The San Diego area is the southernmost region in SoCal. Its proximity to Mexico means that it sees more fish, sooner and longer, than regions to the north. As you might expect, the number of guides is larger.

Orange County Guides and Sportboat Operators
Oddly enough, even though Orange County is one of the most populous regions in SoCal, there are relatively few guides who offer coastal and offshore fly fishing trips. But don't be fooled, the "Gold Coast" has a number of areas that can provide good fishing.

LA Guides and Sportboat Operators
King Harbor in Redondo Beach was once the center of the Southern California saltwater fly-fishing scene. Even though the coastal areas off Los Angeles are less well known to fly fishermen than points south, there are lots of areas that provide good fishing. Here is a list of guides that offer coastal and/or offshore trips in this area.

Ventura and Santa Barbara Guides and Sportboat Operators
Oxnard, Ventura and Santa Barbara areas feature species that favor cooler waters, such as kelp bass, white seabass and halibut, except in the spring and summer months, when pelagic species such as barracuda, bonito, and yellowtail make an appearance.
