The Cam Sigler Line-through Teaser Rod

This rod is "Da Bomb" for tossing teasers for roosterfish or billfish. Nine feet long, it is constructed with only one external guide - the line runs up the inside of the blank.

The lack of guides means the rod can be easily packed with other rods for travel, and once on the fishing grounds, the chances for fouling the line on the rod while teasing a fish are minimal.

The rod has EVA grips with a gimbal rod butt (an EVA cap for the butt is included), and a Fuji reel seat. The rod is a rich deep green color, similar to the Cam Sigler fly rods. The very tip of the rod is a bright green, for improved visibilty in low light.

The rod breaks down into 3 sections, and with only one external guide, it takes up almost no space in a rod tube.

It does not come with a hard case, as it is meant to be packed with fly rods or other gear for travel.

It also works great as a mooching rod, and is a good rod for tossing 1 -2 ounce lures when it's too windy to fly-fish. Cam Sigler jr. pairs it up with a reel similar to the Penn 545 GS with 30 lb mono, but any high-speed reel, such as a Shimano Torium 16 or 20, will work. The Grand Prize DOES NOT include a reel!

The Mangrove Hip Shooter Stripping Basket

Currently, one of the hottest fly fishing accessories around is the Hip Shooter stripping basket, from Mangrove Fly Fishing.

Unlike most stripping baskets, which sit in front of the fisherman and restricts the stripping arm, the Hip Shooter sits to one side, just below the hip. This allows the fisherman to make a full strip with the arm, allowing for better animation of the fly.

The basket has line spikes in the bottom, drain holes, and also folds nearly flat for transport. The basket is easily switched to left or right side use, and a belt clip allows the basket to be easily removed.
