Cedros Island - Uncharted Territory for Fly Fishermen

The Fishermen's Spot has organized two fly-in trips to Cedros Island in Baja. Home to monster yellowtail and calico bass, Isla Cedros is uncharted territory for fly fishermen. While the first trip in July is filled, you can join FS pro staffer Dave Schaeffer on their second trip, scheduled for October 15-19.

Big 'Cuda, Calicos Off El Segundo!

May 7, 2011 - Capt. Bill Matthews reports that barracuda pushing 8 pounds have shown up off El Segundo, and the calicos are on the chew as well.

The fish were found by following birds that were working schools of bait. Six- and eight-weight rods, using blue and white Clouser Flashtails in 3/0, with stripes ala mackerel.
